Adventuress Sailing Into the Next Century

A Presentation by Captains Korie Griffith and Ken Greff
Sunday, Sept. 12: 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
Maritime Meeting Room (Yellow Building)

As the Port Townsend-based schooner Adventuress nears her 100th birthday in 2013, her non-profit owner Sound Experience is undertaking a multiple phase restoration of this historic national landmark.

Taking place during the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival, the focus of the presentation will be on Phase 1 completed in March 2010, the reframing of the port bow and stem replacement, and an outline of the upcoming phases through 2013. Also during the presentation, we will offer a glimpse into her unparalleled history from Arctic exploration to her current mission as the environmental tall ship of Puget Sound and the standards of restoration needed to maintain this old working tall ship.
