PHASE II: Starboard Bow Reframing
This project was a continuation of Phase I as part of our Save America’s Treasures Grant. During this project, we completed the topside reframing of the bow area on the starboard side from the stem to the new midship frames installed in 2005-2006. We also replaced the fore chain plate.
PHASE III: Counter Stern Restoration
This project was only possible because of our community and the “Vote for the Boat” campaign which we won in May 2010 through the Partners in Preservation. We focused these funds on strengthening Adventuress’ iconic counter stern by removing and inspecting the transom, replacing the rim timber, the aft section of the horn timber, the starboard quarter fashion piece and associated planking and covering boards.

Recap of PHASE I, January – April 2010:
After receiving funding through the Save America’s Treasures Grant and matching donations, we launched Phase I of our Centennial Restoration Project leading up to Adventuress’ 100th birthday in 2013. Phase I was a huge success as we partnered with Haven Boatworks and the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding to tackle a daunting project list in 3 months in order to get Adventuress ready and on time for her sailing season. Project highlights include the following:
- New forward port topside frames and planks: 67 new futtocks and 840 lineal feet of planking
- New fore chain plate
- New stem
- New focsle bunks
- New anchor and headrig configuration
