Trips for Teens, Adults & Families
The learning experience was extremely valuable, not only for the sailing, but awareness of the environment, our effect on it, and how we can do better. [Getaway for Grown-Ups Participant, August 2010]
Don't miss the Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel) Programs!--See below for details.
Our Overnight Programs include Trips for Teens, Trips for Adults, and Trips for Families. On all of these programs, we emphasize working together to sail the ship and learning about the environment of Puget Sound. (Note: In addition to our Overnight Programs, we offer special Member-Only Transits. Click here for more information.)
Information for All Overnight Programs
Most trips depart from and return to Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands. Ferry transportation to and from Friday Harbor is not included in the cost of the trip. Click here for Friday Harbor travel tips. Check out the San Juan Islands Visitors Bureau for more information on the Islands should you want to arrive early or stay longer.
No previous sailing experience is necessary. All meals are vegetarian and are included in the cost of the trip. We have a strictly enforced no-alcohol and no-smoking policy on board the ship.
Accomodations are dormitory style, with tiered bunks in the ship's two main cabins, so privacy is limited. There are 3 marine toilets (heads) but there are no showers on board.

Participants will also get a chance to stretch their legs on shore-based excursions, which may include tidepooling, hiking, and participation in a restoration project. The ship anchors out in a different location each night. For photos from previous Fantastic Voyages, visit our Flickr page!
