Summer Overnight Trips for Teens
2025 Registration is now OPEN!
Fantastic Voyage
Join us this year for 4-days/3-nights of adventure where we provide youth of all genders in grades 7-12 a supportive, fun and dynamic learning environment. Meet new people while setting sail, expand comfort zones by climbing aloft or steering the ship. Explore the Salish Sea with activities focused on marine animals including plankton and marine mammals, ocean acidification, microplastics and more! Fantastic Voyage builds confidence and competence, models teamwork and responsibility and provides strong crew role models with respect to environmental stewardship and community.
New this year - Girls at the Helm within Fantastic Voyage! During the registration process, there will be an opportunity for female-identifying youth to choose the Girls at the Helm watch. This small group will have two female-identifying watch leaders and will embody the spirit of our Girls at the Helm program with some watch only activities focused around young women empowerment. This watch will also participate in regular Fantastic Voyage programming.
Where: Start location TBD to Port of Everett
When: Overnight - Monday, August 4th to Thursday, August 7th
Cost: Members $877, Non-members $975
This program will be offered to a maximum of 20 participants. A limited number of full and partial scholarships are available for our teen programs. For more information, click here.

We value Adventuress because our son has a chance to gain authentic, hands on experiences in a safe and nurturing environment. We think it is so important for kids this age to have positive role models outside of their family AND our son loves the maritime world so Adventuress is a perfect fit. - Fantastic Voyage Parent, 2024
Girls at the Helm

Aboard Adventuress, STEM science, the Salish Sea, and maritime history come alive! Join us for 4 days of overnight programs for girls in grades 7-12. The girls participate directly in every aspect of sailing the ship, from hauling lines to learning about navigation and STEAM principles. Through these activities, they’ll learn the significance of teamwork, how to take responsibility for their own actions, and the pride of accomplishment. Sailing and learning together as the ships company, the girls will develop confidence as leaders, sailors and advocates for the future of the Salish Sea.
Adventuress' summer schedule is packed this year! In order to be inclusive to all youth, we will only be offering Fantastic Voyage as our summer teen program in 2025. We are creating a special watch (small group) for Fantastic Voyage for female-identifying youth to opt into during the registration process that will incorporate some of the features of our Girls at the Helm program. See above for details.

Girls at the Helm presented me with all of the options that I had in life and showed me successful women mentors—women doing what they want to do... It was those experiences that gave me a direction in life. I’ve been doing ocean research ever since. - Amelia F., Girls at the Helm 2009
